From the Front Lines of Democracy - Aug 11th, 2026
Hello Hendricks County Democrats! It is meeting day today! If you haven’t already had this on your calendar – go ahead and get on over to the 4-H Fairgrounds and join us starting at 6pm.
Wow! The editorial page of The Republican newspaper was full up with espousing the Democrat Party values this past week. I encourage you to look it up if you haven’t already seen it. Excellent thoughts and arguments presented by fellow Dems.
We are still in Phase 1 of the Field Plan for the General Election in November. The focus is on phone banking, and the goal is to touch each of the >24,000 democrats in the county with a conversation or voice message. Elizabeth Colman will give us the actual numbers tonight at the meeting, but you all must know that that is a big number that requires a big effort and lots of people.
I am going to challenge every one of you who read this newsletter to get on up and join us for the next three weeks at either the Plainfield or Brownsburg Libraries. We are at each location every Thursday from 5-7:30pm. We will continue into September – until the goal is realized. Getting Democrats elected in Hendricks County is a year-round effort, and the work we do this year will set the stage for 2027 and then 2028. You can look at the event page of the website to sign up by clicking on the date and time you want to help.
Let’s get to work.
