From the Front Lines of Democracy - MAY 12th, 2026
Greetings Democrats! Today is meeting day for the HCDP, and this is big one!.jpg)
I am looking forward to seeing hundreds of you tonight. The Primary election is completed, and the final unofficial results are posted on the Hendricks County website.
Though there was only one political race with competition this time, the number of voters who came out to vote are of particular interest to the party and to campaigns.
Our candidate for Congressional District 4, who will unseat Jim Baird, is Drew Cox. Congratulations Drew!
Drew was our speaker last month, and I did an interview with him that you can see on our YouTube channel (click here
to view).
The State convention is coming up in less than a month. Our delegate list is almost complete. I have one opening left to name a voting alternate and there are still opportunities for additional alternates (non-voting) as well as volunteers. We’ll do a straw poll tonight to get a feel for what our members think about Blythe or Beau for SOS.
Speaking of volunteers – I hope you are all ready to blanket the county with information about our blue candidates! The more voters hear about and know about our candidates the more likely they are vote for them. It is up to us to spread the word about Democrats in our county. Tonight, we’ll hear about our Field Operations Plans to do just that. Summertime campaigning!
It is still not too late to be on the ballot for the November Mid-Term! If you are thinking about an office – get with me and we’ll discuss it. The cut-off for filling a ballot vacancy is July 3. Go Blue!!!
Also tonight is the Grand Prize drawing for the DDD raffle!!!! We didn’t quite get to 300 tickets sold, but we were close!
Which has no bearing on the $1,000.00 being awarded tonight!
