Our Mission

The Outreach Committee’s (OC) mission is to raise awareness about the Hendricks County Democratic Party, to get involved locally with coordinated efforts, and to continue to foster a welcoming and positive view of Democrats for our neighbors. Scroll down for pics of Dems forwarding the OC’s mission.

What we do

The Outreach Committee (OC) is where connection, community, and action come together. We bring Democrats out into the community through parades, fairs, and festivals—sharing election resources, showing up for our neighbors, and having fun along the way.

We also create welcoming spaces for Democrats to connect with one another through monthly meetings, Coffee & Conversation gatherings, trivia nights, and other social events. From quarterly meals to hands-on community projects, the OC is all about getting involved, building relationships, and making a visible, positive impact together.

Get involved!

The OC doesn’t just wiggle our noses; our Volunteers make the magic happen!

We offer opportunities for every level of involvement—from ongoing OC Team Member roles like coordinators and captains to One & Done options such as parade walkers, festival booth attendants, food prep, and special events.

No matter how much time you have, there’s a way to get involved.

Outreach Teams

Each Outreach Team is powered by volunteers who like to show up, pitch in, and have fun doing it. Whether you want to lead, help out, or jump in occasionally, there’s a place for you.

  • Parades

Bring good cheer, smiles, and Democratic pride while passing out candy during summer parades across Hendricks County.

    Description

We bring the energy to five summer county parades—waving, smiling, tossing candy, and reminding the community that Democrats show up.

    Parades Coordinator (Big Picture Role)

Keeps parade season running smoothly by handling registrations, lining up parade captains, coordinating the float and giveaways, and working with Communications to spread the word and share the fun afterward.

    Captains (Day-of Leader)

Recruits volunteers to drive, ride, or walk and keeps everything moving on parade day.

This is perfect for you if…

    ● You like high-energy events and being out in the community

    ● You’re organized and enjoy coordinating moving parts

    ● You don’t mind being cheerful in public (and maybe throwing candy)
