No Kings Events in Hendricks County Focus on Getting Out the Vote
Plainfield, IN - October 19, 2026 - Hendricks County residents participated in two rallies on Saturday, October 17, as part of the nationwide push to vote in the upcoming midterm elections.
At the town hall in Brownsburg, about 50 community members held signs highlighting early voting locations and hours. The event was nonpartisan and had local organization MadVoters there to answer voters’ questions. Democratic candidates did stand alongside their constituents to encourage voters to get to the polls. “You definitely want to vote early because you never know what sort of events could prevent you from voting on November 3rd,” said Nancy Stinson, candidate for Brownsburg Town Council. Karen Whitney, who is running for state representative in District 28, said it is important to remind everyone that additional early voting locations open on Monday.
At the Plainfield Government Center, hundreds of area residents held signs highlighting early voting and expressing frustration on topics including corruption in the current administration and the actions of ICE. The program kicked off with members of the Singing Resistance and statements from Linda Lasiter, Chair of the Hendricks County Democratic Party. Former Marine & Community Activist Theresa Brandon shared the oath of office recited by every public servant and reminded the crowd that voting is how to hold those in office accountable.
Early voting starts Monday at additional satellite locations around the county, including the Brownsburg Public Library and the Guilford Township Community Center in Plainfield. Early voting continues to be offered at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds. Locations and available hours can be found at https://www.hendrickscountydemocrats.com/polling-locations.
