It's Time to Mobilize for our Candidates

Hello Democrats! Yesterday early evening, I listened to the house finches singing in my backyard – lifted my heart to the sky. Spring is coming and in Indiana it is a glorious season – even DJT can’t deregulate that away from us.

We are also in the season of preparation for the Midterm election. We have 12 declared county candidates who need all of us to contribute to their campaigns so we can get our Democrats over the line to victory this year. Starting now, their names must be put out to all our neighbors and friend groups so that people know who they are. If you are not aware of them, please visit the HCDP website: www.hendrickscountydemocrats.com. As the weeks go by, we’ll get more information out to you to share. Each of their campaigns will need volunteers to help them with various parts of spreading the word and it will be up to all of us to help. In special elections all over the country Democratic candidates have been winning by large margins. We need to be ready to take every advantage of the horrific legislation Republicans have passed in our state and reverse the debilitating supermajority they have throughout Indiana.

Poll worker calls will be going out within the next 7-10 days. If you have volunteered for this important work, please be watching for those calls – you may not have the callers in your phone. There will be three of us calling – myself, Elizabeth Colman, and Marilee Steckler. Have your calendars ready to verify your availability. This year training is mandatory. Also, you will need to choose between training for a clerk or judge – they will be separate – for election day only.
